It is a continuation of the visual research examining the construct of the colonial studio photograph. The body of work draws on found and reimagined archival material from Studio portraits taken across India/Pakistan and South Asian Immigrant settlers in England. The images document the small worlds created in the photographic studios, examining the visual narrative of the props, posture and elaborate backgrounds that raise questions about the sitters' aspirations. Ethnographic documentation during British Raj informs this body of work.
