Refund policy

Each work sold by APRE Art House is an original, made by hand and selected for the collector who acquires it. We do not accept returns or offer refunds on the grounds of change of mind. Please look carefully, ask us anything, and request additional images or a viewing before you commit — we would far rather answer questions than process a disappointment.

Returns and refunds are accepted only where a work arrives damaged in transit or is found to be defective.

If a Work Arrives Damaged

1.   Do not discard the packaging. It is required for any insurance or courier claim.

2.   Photograph everything — the outer packaging, the crate or wrapping, and the damage to the work itself.

3.   Write to us within 24 hours of delivery at prerna@aprearthouse.com, with your invoice number and the photographs attached.

We recommend recording a short video as you unbox the work. It makes any claim substantially easier to settle.

Claims raised after 24 hours cannot be processed, as we lose the ability to distinguish transit damage from damage occurring after delivery and the courier's claim window will have closed.

How We Resolve a Claim

On receiving your claim we will assess the images and, where necessary, arrange for the work to be returned to the gallery for inspection at our cost. We will then offer, at our discretion and in consultation with you:

Restoration of the work by a qualified conservator, where the damage is repairable without compromising the piece; or

Replacement with the same or a comparable work, where available; or

A full refund, including the shipping paid on the original order.

Where a work is returned, it must be sent back in its original packaging. Works returned in substitute packaging may be refused.

What Is Not Covered

Change of mind, or a work not matching a room, wall or interior scheme

Variation between the artwork and its on-screen appearance. Colour, tone and surface texture render differently on every screen, and reproduction is never exact

Irregularities that are inherent to the medium — brush texture, canvas weave, paper deckle, patina, tool marks in sculpture, and the natural variation of handmade and hand-finished works. These are characteristics, not defects

Damage occurring after delivery, including during unpacking, storage, installation, framing or subsequent transport arranged by the buyer

Works customised at the buyer’s request, including bespoke framing and mounting

Commissioned works, once approved by the buyer at the agreed review stage

Works sold as-is with disclosed condition notes, where the condition was made known before purchase

Cancellation Before Dispatch

An order may be cancelled without charge at any time before the work is dispatched, provided preparation, crating or framing specific to your order has not already been carried out. Where such work has been done, those costs will be deducted from the refund.

Oversized works on extended timelines. Where we notify you before dispatch that a work requires sea freight or specialist handling and will take 30 to 60 days in transit, you may cancel the order in full at that point — including the artwork, not only the shipping — and receive a complete refund with no deduction. This applies whether or not crating has begun. You may instead choose expedited shipping at additional cost, or proceed as quoted.

Refund Processing

Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7 business days of approval. The time taken for funds to reflect in your account depends on your bank or card issuer, typically a further 5–10 business days. Transaction charges levied by third-party payment providers, and customs duties already paid to a foreign authority, are not refundable to us and therefore cannot be refunded to you.

Events, Talks and Paid Programmes

Bookings for lectures, workshops, viewings and other paid programmes are non-refundable, as places are limited and held against your booking.

Your place may be transferred to another attendee at no cost — write to us with their name and contact details at least 24 hours before the event.

If APRE Art House cancels or reschedules a programme, you may choose between a full refund and a credit towards a future programme.
