Overview
Sukanya Ayde is an artist based in Delhi with a deep interest in Indian art. Her degree in Fashion and Textile Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York has enabled her to visualize and express her thoughts with freedom. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in History from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University in 2011.
She is inspired by the artistic handling and representation of nature by the various schools of traditional Indian art with the Kota and Bundi regions of Rajasthan in particular. From untouched nature settings to intricate motifs and print patterns, Sukanya’s work strives to integrate the present with the past. Her work explores the beauty in detail that might often be overlooked in our present times and draws attention to it with her artistic representation. Her work draws from various concepts and philosophies that she resonates with, while utilizing her surroundings and observations to bring them into form.
