Overview

Mahes Meher is a visual artist from Odisha, currently based in Baroda, Gujarat. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from B.K. College of Art and Crafts, Bhubaneswar (2019), and a Master's degree in Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University, Baroda (2022).

Meher’s work explores themes of emotion, memory, nostalgia, and human experience, using terracotta, ceramics, metal, and stone as narrative devices to deepen his conceptual engagement. His practice is constantly evolving through research and experimentation, allowing him to delve into the complexities of materiality and the human condition.

Mahes has participated in several exhibitions and artist residencies, including Taoxichuan Ceramic Art Center in China (2024), APRE Art House Residency (2023), and BARODA ANNUELLE IV at Gallery White, Vadodara (2024). His notable grants and residencies include the ILA Panda Center for Art M.V.A Grant (2020), Mati Art Foundation Grant (2022), and Indian Ceramic Art Foundation Ceramic Residency Program (2024).

Born in Odisha, India, he currently lives and works in Baroda.
