Collection: Hemant Chaturvedi

Hemant Chaturvedi, a former cinematographer with over 30 years in Mumbai’s film industry, transitioned to still photography in 2015, focusing on personal projects. His notable works include The Single Screen Cinemas Project, the world’s largest photo-documentation of over 1,150 theatres across 22 states and 950 towns, covering 50,000 km.

Chaturvedi’s projects also explore Dhrupad Gurukuls, British-era cemeteries, Zoroastrian Aram Gahs, and abandoned Hindu idols. His tribute documentary, Chhayaankan: The Management of Shadows, honors his cinematography peers.

Key exhibitions include Halcyon at Wonderwall Gallery, Delhi (2018), and The Evocation of Memory at Kala Ghoda Café, Mumbai (2024).
