Fawzan Husain is a documentary photographer, a creative artist, teacher and an organic farmer. A self-taught individual, Fawzan has spent 38 years as a photographer. His work has been published in prominent Indian and International publications and exhibited around the world.

After completing a post-graduate degree in journalism from the Bombay School of Journalism, Fawzan joined the Mumbai-based newspaper Mid-Day. “At Mid-Day, I honed my talent in the documentary genre of photography,” he says. He later joined India Today and worked there for over a decade, travelling across India on assignments.
Fawzan held his first solo show in 1992; and has had eight shows and 12 group exhibitions since. Permanent collections of his works can be viewed at The Museum of Fine Art at Houston, Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts in Japan and the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Mumbai. His body of work was represented by Tasveer in India.
Fawzan has published three books `Between Bombay & Mumbai’ , `The Silver Screen & Beyond’ and ‘Mumbai in Lockdown’
Fawzan is passionate about nurturing new talent, and divides his time teaching documentary photography at Shari Academy-Bombay, Bharti Vidyapeeth-Poona and Symbiosis School of Visual Arts and Photography. He has also given a talk on `Re-discovering Photography’ at TEDx Ahmedabad.
When not taking pictures, Fawzan is an avid organic farmer and loves to get his hands and feet dirty digging into the red soil of his farm at Dahanu near Mumbai. His ultimate aim is to ensure that the food on his dining table is 100% organic.
Fawzan lives in Mumba
