Bio:
Khandaker Tanvir Murad was born in 1978 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He earned a Master’s degree in Anthropology from Jahangirnagar University in 2003 and subsequently began his professional journey at Drik as the Coordinator of Gallery & Exhibition. In addition, he completed a three-year Photography program at Pathshala South Asian Media Institute.
Tanvir Murad’s work has been featured in prominent publications such as Himal (South Asia), Magazine X (Norway), and The Daily Telegraph (UK). His primary focus lies in Documentary Photography, exploring themes like religion, politics, and socio-economic issues. He also has a strong interest in Visual Anthropology, Investigative Journalism, and Curation.
Since 2010, Tanvir has been teaching photography at Pathshala South Asian Media Institute and currently serves as the Head of the Photography Department. He has actively participated in workshops on education, pedagogy, teaching methodologies, and content creation for students. Under the World Press Photo Foundation, he completed Training of Trainers (TOT) programs in Photography and Journalism.
