Georgina Maddox

Georgina Maddox, is a critic-curator based in Delhi. When not on the art beat, she is a creative writer and a visual artist. Maddox actively supports the rights of queers, women and minority groups. Her work has appeared in publications like STIR world, Take on Art, Art India, The Hindu, The Indian Express, Outlook magazine, Times of India, and India Today. She has worked on two short films: Bombay Longing with Shalini Kantaya, a US-based filmmaker, and No Fixed Address with artist Tejal Shah. She has also curated several exhibitions and written catalogue essays for artists. Her essay on Bhupen Khakhar and Amrita Sher-Gil, “Challenging the Hetero-norm in Art,” was published in a Seagull publication titled The Phobic and the Erotic, edited by Brinda Bose and Subhabrata Bhattacharyya. Her essay Queer Activism in Art and Cinema published in Articulating Resistance: Art and Activism; edited by Deeptha Achar and Shivaji K. Panikkar.
