UBIK’s practice is a rare example of institutional critique in South Asia, its tone at times ironic and confessional, at times withholding and oracular. Systems of cultural production and consumption today are viewed in terms of material phenomena such as corrosion and distillation, presenting us with an infrastructure built on aspiration, complicity and consensus.
