Overview

Sanna Irshad, Ranging from groundbreaking news to in-depth storytelling, her work concentrates on depicting the tension between the seeming ordinariness of life and the stark symbols of a menacing militarized milieu in Kashmir. Sanna is the winner of the 2022 Pulitzer Prize in feature photography, amongst others. She is the Magnum Foundation’s Counter Histories grantee for 2022. She was the Magnum Foundation's Photography and Social Justice Fellow for 2021 and also a Serendipity Arles grantee for 2020. Her work has been published in newspapers and magazines around the world and has been screened and exhibited at various exhibitions and festivals including Tender Buttons and a Bellyache, curated by Shristi Sainani, APRE Art House, 2023.

Currently based in Kashmir, India.
