Mitali Das

1995

Overview

Mitali Das is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the feminine self, body, and sexuality through themes of transformation, mortality, and emotional vulnerability. Rooted in personal experience, her practice confronts societal anxieties around beauty, desire, and bodily change—embracing excess, imperfection, and sensuality to challenge heteronormative ideals and shame-based narratives.

Her debut solo exhibition, Goosebumps, was held at Nippon Art Gallery, Mumbai (2020). She has since participated in group shows including the India Art Fair Parallel Show at Method, Delhi (2025), Abir First Take (2024), and Miniature Postage Stamp Masterpieces at Nippon Art Gallery (2023–2024). In 2023, she was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Rajya Charukala Parshad, Kolkata.

Born in Nadia, West Bengal, she currently lives and works in Kolkata, India.
