Overview

Krishnaraj Chonat, a self-taught sculptor and painter with formal training in printmaking, holds degrees from Chitrakala Parishat, Bangalore (1994), and MSU, Baroda (1996). His diverse artistic practice spans sculpture, painting, and drawing, employing eclectic materials and techniques to create layered, multifaceted works. Early collaborations with industrial designers and architects enriched his understanding of art beyond theory, fostering innovation in his sculptures and paintings.

Chonat has exhibited globally, including at The Japan Foundation, The Mori Museum, Centre Pompidou, and Columbus Museum of Art. His works feature in prominent collections such as the Daimler Chrysler Collection, Devi Art Foundation, and Museum of Art and Photography, Bangalore.
