Meher Afroz Vahid

1991

Overview

Meher Afroz Vahid holds an embryological approach of being invested in culture, society, religion, and surroundings, wherein the location of the body - geographically and metaphysically gets documented in her works. Vahid’s has been an artist in residence at KARA, Kooshk, Tehran, 2019, and Sifting Futur, Switzerland, 2015. She held her debut solo show Simat Kar Kis Liye Nuqta Nahīn Bantī Zamīnat Threshold Gallery, Delhi, 2019.

Her practice has been further shaped through international residencies, including KARA, Kooshk Residency, Tehran (2019), and Sifting Futur, Switzerland (2015), allowing for sustained engagement with cross-cultural dialogues and diasporic sensibilities.

She has participated in several significant group exhibitions, including Bambai Se Aaya Mera Dost (Method, Delhi, supported by APRE Art House, 2025); Lament Traces (APRE Art House, 2024); Metaphors For Land (APRE Art House, 2024); Tender Buttons and a Bellyache (APRE Art House, 2023); Phantom Limb (Raza Foundation, Delhi, 2019); and Distant Mirrors (Alte Fabrik, Switzerland, 2017), among others.

Meher Afroz Vahid lives and works between Dubai and Mumbai, and continues to develop a deeply introspective and materially sensitive body of work that questions how inner worlds are marked by external systems of meaning.
