    Ranjeet Singh

Ranjeet Singh is a multimedia artist interested in researching the nuances of human existence and the layered quality of socio-cultural interactions. He uses a distinctive visual language in which photography and photo-realistic painting both play a part in the documentation of the environments and people he comes in contact with. He employs these techniques as a means of articulating an understanding of complex hierarchies and political disparities that create segregations and conflict within social structures. In ‘The Black Truth’ series, Singh highlights the lives of workers at coal mines in his native region of Bihar. Earlier, he developed a body of paintings on child labour. His purposeful works reveal elements of truth about what is alive around him, amplifying the voices of communities who are often denied basic human rights. “I choose the representational-figurative tradition to unfurl myself to my viewers in a simply readable language superimposing identical objects, contexts and symbols, creating paradoxes to convey my idea vigorously”, says the artist.

    YASIR WAQAS

Yasir Waqas' work deals with compromises and conflicts, between ideas innate and ideas implanted, and the damage to the personality and the idea itself. His work often comprises different layered parts, juxtaposed in a way that the abstract visuals speak metaphorically about the conflicts within a person's belief system and aim to address the contradictions within a system, which can lead to inner destruction on the whole and on a macro level, infect the entire race. He feels it is the duty and responsibility of the artist to address societal and political issues at hand.
