Overview
Ritwika Ganguly, from Kolkata, recently completed her Master’s in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University, Baroda, after earning her Bachelor’s in Painting from Kalabhavan, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan. Her work focuses on observing people and exploring the subtleties of gestures and their lingering impact on the body. By intentionally losing much of the original context in her compositions, she invites viewers to connect moments with their interpretations. Ritwika’s creative process involves sketching, drawing, photography, video documentation, and eventually painting in watercolor washes or creating hand-drawn animations.
She has participated in various exhibitions, workshops, and residencies in India and abroad and has worked with animation filmmaker Prakash Moorthy in Trivandrum, Kerala.
Currently based in Baroda.
