Prabhakar Kolte, born in 1946, is a prominent Indian Modern & Contemporary painter known for his use of dominant colors and abstract forms. A graduate of Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, he won the Gold Medal from the Bombay Art Society in 1970 and several Maharashtra State Awards. Influenced by Paul Klee, Kolte’s work features geometric and organic forms, often subdued with white, creating unidentifiable figures through flat layers of paint.

His work has been exhibited in key galleries like The Guild Art Gallery and sold at auction for up to $55,579.

Currently based in Mumbai.
