Overview
Nikita Parikh, born in Ahmedabad, completed her graduation and post-graduation in painting from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Vadodara. Influenced by her religious upbringing and visits to Nathdwara, her work draws inspiration from Picchvai paintings, medieval manuscripts, Pat paintings, and Shekhawati murals.
Her art uniquely combines traditional Indian miniature paintings with textile techniques and embroidery, a signature style that has garnered widespread recognition. Parikh has received numerous awards, including a Junior Artist Fellowship from the Government of India, the Gujarat State Lalit Kala Akademi Award, and the Navdeep Pratishthan Award. Her work has been showcased in solo and group exhibitions, both in India and internationally, including the 9th International Biennial Print & Drawing in Taipei, Taiwan.
Currently based in Vadodara.
